Having a c section at The Whittington

Hi all
I'm pregnant with my second baby and currently under the care of Uclh . I had my dd here 2.5 yrs ago and ended up having a c section. Due to me being a low risk c section and the UCLH being over subscribed It's been suggested that I have my csection at the Whittington. Before I make a decision I would love to hear people's c-section experiences there
Many thanks

Had an EMCS there and booked for an ELCS this time. Despite it being an EMCS it was very calm, everyone polite and a v small neat scar. No post surgery issues and I was very well looked after. Post natal ward is a bit Hmm but that’s the same anywhere.

They promote ‘natural c section’ too which I will be asking for this time.

Didn’t have a c-section there, but I cannot fault the midwives and doctors on the labour ward who delivered my baby last year.

The post natal ward on the other hand...!! But I assume most post natal wards are utter shit, so I wouldn’t let that put you off.

One word of caution: parking. You can’t park at the Whitington except on weekends, so build that into your plans.

Hi OP I'm also under UCLH and likely low risk ELCS. Midwife told me that this might take place at Whittington- did you have a choice? Did you have the ELCS at the Whittington and how did you find it?

Just picking up on this topic - I am also told by UCLH that they will be transferring me for a ELCS to the Whittington hospital. Wonder what experience you ladies have had at the Whittington?

Hello, I’m in the same boat and would love to hear from anyone with experience? I’m just reading a thread about awful post natal wards so expecting that (!) but would love to know what a ‘natural c section’ is and general experience of the Whitington. I’ve heard a few hairy things... Thank you in advance!
