Hello
I'm 29+2 and I've been having period like cramps in my uterus and lower back for about a week now - they don't feel like contractions they are more constant and then today they're really bad.

Rang midwife and she said to try some paracetamol but if they don't go in 2 hours to go to the delivery suite to be monitored. She said she doesn't think t's labour nut could be irritable uterus! Anyone had similar? Feeling worried :( baby has been moving okay though

Urgh I really hope you don't have an irritable uterus. I have that and it has causes fake labour for the last 2 months. It's made the pregnancy pretty unbearable tbh. Midwives tend not to worry about things unless you are bleeding or your waters have broken, as there are dozens of different reasons you could be aching or in pain during pregnancy. There are also certain points in your pregnancy where baby has growth spurts and you're likely to hurt more.

I'd say as long as baby's movements are fine, there's nothing to worry about, just take what you're allowed to get through the pain. I've found that practising breathing exercises (no matter how pointless they might feel) can actually really help with the pain. Hot water bottles, chocolate etc.. whatever works!

But as soon as you're not happy with baby's movements, call the Assessment Unit for reassurance :)
