Induction and paternity leave

I'm likely to be induced at 38 weeks and midwife has said it could take up to 3 days for anything to happen with an induction. With this in mind I'm starting to worry about husbands paternity leave. He's having 2 weeks off 1 week being paternity and the 2nd annual leave. I want him at home with us as long as possible. Will the paternity start from the day we go into hospital for the induction or from the day baby is born? I'm worried he's going to waste 3 days waiting for me to go into labour and if birth doesn't go well if I have to stay in after baby is born he won't have much time at home with us either. Am I worrying too much?

Some hospitals let you come home after induction. It may be worth asking. That way perhaps your husband could accompany you to the appointment and go back to work, delaying the start of paternity leave until you are in labour. 💚
