Where will I feel baby kick?

I’m 17 weeks pregnant and it’s my first pregnancy. I’m wondering where I will start feeling the baby kick? Will it be high up or low down? I think I feel something but I’m wondering if it’s just gas as it’s more towards my left side and about level to my navel, maybe a bit higher. It feels like bubbles to a gentle tap on the inside...

That could well be it! Congratulations on your pregnancy. How exciting.

Mine was low, by my pelvis but it can depend on where baby is. I'd say kicks feel almost like little muscle spasms. Sounds like what you felt could be it!

At this stage it’s likely to be around your belly button or lower. I’d describe the first feelings just like you have...like bubbles or popping bubble wrap? And 17 weeks sounds a reasonable time to start feeling. Exciting!!! It’s a lovely feeling. Once baby is bigger you’ll likely feel them higher up and far more strongly. Am 27 weeks now and little one is nearly up to my ribs and I am starting to see some of the kicks as well as feel them! Enjoy!!!

My boy is quite low, so I felt a lot of kicks in my knickers at first. He was sideways at the time too, so everything was down there! Since he’s turned around, I feel them a bit higher but still not much above my navel at 25 weeks x

Mine was very low to start with...knicker line. Even at 24 weeks it’s still below the naval.

I'm 18/40 and mines very low down.

At 18 weeks it's absolutely possible to feel something but if it's above belly button it's unlikely to be baby at this stage...sorry. Your uterus is still an inch or so below belly button at this stage. I am 22 weeks and uterus has just hit belly button. I still feel kicks low down, below belly button and what can only be described at 'knicker area'! Every so often I'm starting to feel them closer to belly button. The best description for mine though are muscle twitches or at 16/18 weeks more like fish wriggling! That being said, everyone is different and maybe you are feeling baby! Did your midwife feel tummy at 16 week appointment and show you top of uterus?
