Ok I’ve name-changed for this because I also texted a friend about it who I know is on here. And also I’m a bit ashamed of how silly I am (probably) being!
So I got a bag of frozen fruit out of the freezer, ate some and put some in a bowl which I heated and ate. It wasn’t until I returned the bag to the freezer that I realised they had been squashed up right inside an open pack of chicken thighs (the clingfilm had come off spmehow) - so the fruit bag was right in contact with the uncovered chicken.
I’m nearly 38 weeks pregnant and I’m very worried now that I will have got food poisoning bacteria on my hands from the bag and therefore into my mouth, and this will harm the baby. I didn’t wash my hands before eating the fruit as I wasn’t aware of the chicken until afterwards. I’ve since read that freezing does not killl bacteria.
Am I over-reacting? I know there is little I can do and my friend correctly said I must put it out of my mind, but Im struggling to do so.
Thanks for any calm words of wisdom!
