Hard to breathe!

I know baby crowding lungs can cause breathlessness... so I was surprised when I mentioned to my midwife today that I am sometimes finding it hard to breathe, that she seemed worried. She told me that if it continues I should make an appointment with my GP as worst case scenario it could be a blood clot on the lung!! Seriously NOT what I was expecting her to say!!

Has anyone else experienced this? It's not just when I'm walking or climbing the stairs - it's also sometimes when I'm just sitting doing nothing. It comes and goes - breathing isn't always difficult (I like to think I'm quite fit actually - I was going to the gym until a fortnight ago) but sometimes when I'm sitting down I just can't catch my breath properly and feel like I don't have enough oxygen going into me. I'm 37 weeks pregnant. Anyone else experienced this?

Your midwife should have referred you to GP straight away.
You should get checked.
Do you have a cough?

I can’t sneeze! I can’t get enough air in my lungs to give it a good go! I think I’d make a drs app asap if I were u just to make myself feel better. Xxx

I’d phone your GP now and explain. Your midwife should have passed you on or referred you to someone not leave you to sort it! If no luck with GP you can always phone the assessment unit. You GP is staffed until 6:30pm unless they have an arrangement with out of hours, who will still see you tonight.

I had this and it turned out I was anaemic.

Oh shoot really?! Yikes! I've had this for literally weeks... in fact, now I think about it I definitely has it in July when I was on holiday so it must be around 2 months I've had this on and off!! No, no cough qr all. Definitely too late this eve (but I don't think one more day will matter anyway) but I will make a GP appointment tomorrow... how annoying! I seriously thought it was nothing so am feeling like an idiot now for ignoring it for so long! Thanks for the advice.
