Discharge or waters leaking? Warning photo TMI

Hey, paranoid 41 weeks pregnant woman! I've already been in hospital this week after a failed induction at the weekend as I thought my waters were leaking... turns out was increased discharge and mucus plug. It's been happening for a few days and I'm paranoid/worrying about it as it seems to have changed. Im planning on ringing tonight when partner is home to have it checked. It's a light yellowy colour and smells sweet? Really strange. Anyone got any ideas? It's not urine! Doesn't smell like it anyway...

That looks EXACTLY like mine!! I've had that for three weeks now! Literally the ezaxt same pale yellow stuff. Am currently 37 weeks. Am just about to go and see my midwife... I'll let you know what she says! I'm hoping and praying it's not my waters leaking!

If it's sweet smelling it's your waters! I'd ring your maternity assessment unit now x

My midwife said there was no point looking at my pad as the only way to be sure is through something similar to a smear test 😕 she didn't seem at all worried though so I'm going to just hope it's normal! If you ask your midwife will you please let me know what she says? Best of luck!

I feel like it's probably just discharge but whenever I stand up I feel more come out. Going to ring up soon.

The smell of waters is quite unique. Take a used pad with you, the midwife will know straight away.

I couldn't smell my waters! Lie down for half an hour with a pad on, stand up and if you leak again it's most definitely your Waters!

Fingers crossed for you it's your waters when you get checked, baby has kept you waiting long enough!!

@honeysucklejasmine thank you I will do. It does smell oddly sweet without even being close to it I can smell it.

Just discharge ladies! She said she could see why I came in and is glad I did. Part of mucus plug potentially too. Thanks for all your advice. I'm just glad I came in and got it checked! Better to be safe than sorry.

Ahhh! Im sorry for you as it might have meant baby is on the way.... but I'm so relieved for myself as it means my waters probably haven't been trickling for the past month after all! Phew!! Thanks so much for posting back and good luck over the next few days!! 🤞

I had this for the week before labour, I was in and out of hospital being checked over nearly every day so sure it was my waters never was, and when my waters did finally go I definitely knew about it

Get yourself some amniosense pads from Boots. They change colour on contact with amniotic fluid, so you will know either way. What you're describing sounds so much like waters and doesn't look anything like mucus plug! Anyway, I hope you meet your baby soon.

Re. amniosense pads... Do Boots still sell those? I couldn't find them in stock online.... If anyone knows where to get them from please do post a link!!

I'm 37 +5 days, I losted my mucus plug on the 20th Dec and had a bloody show on Xmas day. Since boxing day then I've been leaking fluid well that's what it feels like every time I stand up. I've got a maternity pad on to catch it and looks always wet.
I've been having really bad tightening and cramps down my pelvis.
What do you lot think I should do.
