Do any of you know if i should wear flight socks on the flight, do you think this would help lower the risk of DVT and also can you use insect repellent while pregnant?

depends on the length of the flight and whether your flight socks are correctly fitted. The evidence on compression stockings is varied, but they may help.

yes - wear flight socks without question and keep mobile - rotate your ankles at least twice per hour and get up and have a walk and stretch each hour too
drink plenty of water to keep hydrated

You can get insect repellant without a chemical in which you should avoid when pregnant but i cannot remember the name of it ... ask your pharmacist

You are advised not to use repellent containing DEET when pregnant.

I've just come back from the Maldives (was 27 weeks pg at the time) and i used the kids pump action spray from mozzieguard - was fab. i got bitten less than my DH who used the extra strength jungle forumla with 50% DEET spray.

Hello
Just came back from Malaysia (14 hour flight) and I wore flight socks and used the regular Mosi-guard spray and did not get bitten at all!
