How soon should I take a test?

I had a coil removed 8 days ago, I was due to get my period 2 days ago but no period. Is it too soon to take a pregnancy test?

A test would show an accurate result now, some tests show a positive before you're even late.
However, if you only had your coil removed 8 days ago, I think it is unlikely your period being late is down to pregnancy as you would be too early on to test. You could of course turn out to be pregnant later on, but you wouldn't show a positive yet if you're 8 days pregnant or less.

Thank you. I know, I’d be very surprised if I was. I’m never late so it’s just a bit strange! I’ll wait a bit longer and see what happens!

It’s probably just your body adjusting to having the coil out. Even if you ovulated right after the coil came out it would be too early for a positive pregnancy test so I wouldn’t waste money testing just yet but leave it a week or two and see what happens.
