Hello all, I am pregnant with my first child, im 5 weeks.. I never thought this would happen naturally after being diagnosed as infertile 4 years ago! I am literally over the moon! I am experiencing constant cramps in my lower abdomen like I'm.about to start my period at any point! Is this normal? Reassurance needed I think! :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy, I was also diagnosed with fertility issues, however I'm now on my 5th pregnancy all naturally conceived! It's amazing how wrong people can be sometimes!

Anyway to put your mind at rest I have had period cramps with all my pregnancies, and everything has been fine, so try not to worry, take some paracetamol and take things easy. All the best xx

I was so convinced I was about to get my period because of cramps that I didn't take a test until I was nearly six weeks, when I'd had cramps for a week but no period. I was so sure I wasn't pregnant, just because of the cramps. Fast forward a bit and my 7 month old ds is currently asleep in my arms. Try not to worry (I know, impossible really) but I hope it all goes wonderfully for you

Congrats!!
I had period like cramps for most of the 5 months and then they disappeared completely. But it felt like my period would start any moment.
Relax, it's usual.
I would back off the housework as it won't do you any harm but will perhaps make you anxious about it once you have done it.
Relax and enjoy your pregnancy!!

It's so reassuring when speaking to people that have had the same experiences, thank you! Yes might have to see which ones of my friends fancy a good clean of my house haha a!

Yes same here. I kept expecting to see red every time I went to the loo for weeks. Honestly felt identical to AF. Congrats!!

It seems to be really common! Why don't they put this as early pregnancy symptoms!? That's the only reason I knew something wasn't right as my period never came! Trying my hardest not to get too excited but can't help myself! Thank you xx

I had period like cramps early in pregnancy. I told my doctor but she didn't seem worried as i had no bleeding. The cramps died down from about 6 weeks x

I wouldn't be climbing any high step ladders, but cleaning is fine, just don't over do things, and have a quick read of the pregnancy do's and donts, certain foods u need to be careful of
