FOUR Missed Pills? Could I be?

I think I MAY be pregnant. I understand there are probably a million different threads on here similar to this one but hear me out Blush
So... At the start of August I was on holiday & being out of a normal routine I stupidly happened to miss around 4 of my contraceptive pills. I know.... How can someone completely forget FOUR. I am USELESS with my pill and have been using the pill since I had my coil taken out about 4 months ago. I had some issues with the coil, hence why I had it taken out) Guess why I chose the coil in the first place... Confused
Anyways, on one of these "missed pill days" I had sex with my boyfriend. I've worked out this could possibly have been one of my most fertile days too (middle of my cycle)
Having missed these four pills I decided to just stop taking my pills altogether, let myself get a withdrawal bleed and start afresh with the next months pack of pills (Me & the boyfriend didn't have sex again during this time) However, I had NO withdrawal bleed until day 13 being OFF the pill. So, techincally it did arrive around the time my period was due thereabouts but in the past when I was on the pill years ago, if I'd ever miss a couple of pills my withdrawal period would show up pretty much straight away. When the bleeding started on the 17th August it lasted four days and was a lot lighter than what I am usually used too. It was definitely normal period blood, wouldn't call it "spotting" but I wasn't having to change my tampon as often as usual. So this rung some alarm bells..... I've been driving myself crazy googling "period when pregnant" etc... I know it isn't impossible to get bleeds when pregnant. Once the four days bleed had ended I began to feel really WEIRD. I woke up fine but I had to leave work early because out of nowhere I became so light-headed, super dizzy and exhausted. It was the same feeling of coming down with flu but NO flu, I basically stayed at home for two days and slept. Those two days passed and I was as right as rain! On the 25th August I took two cheap Boots pregnancy tests just to make sure... Negative. No faint lines, nothing. So I disregarded the whole "I think I'm pregnant" thing. However... TODAY (4th September) I've had the weirdest shooting stabbing pain in my left breast and during the past couple of days I've been having very watery white discharge... I usually get discharge throughout my cycle but nothing as watery as this. My knickers are constantly damp (sorry TMI!) According to my cycle I would be ovulating around now... However, during ovulation my discharge is normally quite thick and creamy, my breasts get swollen but I never have stabbing pains. I also have DANDRUFF (WHAT) I haven't had that since a child. My body is doing some odd things right now and I just wanted to get others opinions on it all... Any will do, please feel free to tut at me for being absolutely useless with contraception...

I have a son who is about to start school following 4 missed pills 😬

It could just be the hormone withdrawal from stopping the pill that you are experiencing. When I stopped my pill I didn’t have any bleeding until 40 days afterwards and I kept convincing myself I must be pregnant as I had lots of strange symptoms. Heavy sire boobs, a change in my discharge etc.
That’s not to say you’re not pregnant either though. A pregnancy test 3 weeks after your last episode of unprotected sex would be pretty accurate.
If you don’t want to get pregnant though then you should think about restarting contraception ASAP. You could restart the pill.
Anyway good luck. I hope you get the outcome you’re looking for

Eeek! That's so cute.. Haha. I won't lie, deep down there is a small part of me hoping I am... I guess the only way to know for certain is to take another test... Surely my now I'd have enough HCG in me to show a positive! I'd be around 8 weeks IF I am.

I got pregnant after missing two pills...so...

I hope you get the results you want, best of luck!

CuckooAchoo · 05/09/2018 10:25

Did you get any sort of bleed or did you know straight away something wasn't right as you had no period? This is what's confusing me. I've been pregnant before and KNEW early on even before the missed period that something wasn't "normal"

Sounds like a normal withdrawal bleed to me it can take a while longer. Just take a pregnancy test 🙈

CountessVonBoobs · 05/09/2018 11:54

Take another test. If that is negative, it's overwhelmingly likely that your hormones are just mildly disordered following withdrawal from the Pill. Early pregnancy "symptoms" are actually caused by raised progesterone and can also be caused by your period or pill withdrawal.

Take another test!! And come back with the results x

CuckooAchoo · 05/09/2018 13:30

I will do another test with my first pee tomorrow morning and will let you know. Still having occasional stabbing pains in my left breast, VERY hungry craving pastry ! An odd crampy pain in my left bum cheek now too....

The symptoms are normal when withdrawing from contraception and even when experiencing PMS. I always have sharp breast pains and crave shit food due to the above things. Test again but if it’s negative, it most likely does mean it’s negative. The withdrawal bleed sounds normal too.

Dontknowwhatimdoing · 05/09/2018 15:24

What does your boyfriend think about this? Is he also hoping you are pregnant now you've stopped the pill? If so good luck with TTC!

CuckooAchoo · 06/09/2018 08:50

Hi everyone.. BFN this morning. I guess my "symptoms" are ovulation signs. Im just scrutinising them more under the circumstances. As much as I'd love to be a mum one day it's not the best time.. Me and my partner have already discussed having kids but not until I'm next year. Finances aren't ideal atm. In the meantime I need to figure out a way of becoming more organised with pill taking or I may consider the injection.

Armygirl · 06/09/2018 12:01

The injection can delay your fertility up to a year so if you are thinking of trying for a baby next year, the injection may not be your best option. You get immediate return to fertility with the implant (although with all hormonal methods it sometimes takes a while for your cycle to return to normal)
Why not restart the pill and download a pill taking app which will remind you each day and every hour until you click to say you’ve taken your pill.
Good luck

Ah! How do I post a photo on here?! The test I took this morning is showing a second very very faint line... Evap line?? I left the test for around 10 minutes and nothing showed up so I just left it in my bedside drawer... Now this!

You can't read the test after hours, it's a false reading

My account won't let me post pics yet as I haven't had my account long enough but above are links to see the test.. What if those lines showed up a couple of mins after the ten min waiting period? Would they still count as false positives? I can always take another tomorrow morning to be sure...

Likelihood it would show up quite early in those 10 minutes, I would personally get a digital one and do in the morning, least then you'll get a definitive yes or no :) let us know! Xx
