Bleed and clot. Again.

I am 16 weeks at the moment. Last week I had a fairly heavy bleed, went to the emergency gynae but everything seemed fine. Baby had good heartbeat and was wriggling around.

I've just had another bleed, though smaller this time, but there was a clot around the size of a pea.

Because of my last bleed showing nothing I feel like it might be a bit OTT to ask for another emergency appointment maybe?

Any advice is appreciated.

Call the EPU and get seen, won't hurt to get it followed up and it's exactly what they're there for x

@StuckInTheMiddleWithJude The EPU won't see me. Their cut off point is 14 weeks.

I had to go through my GP last time to be referred to gynae.
I have a number for the department I went to last time though. I'll give them a call now and ask for their advice.

I think at 16 weeks the maternity ward will see you. I bled throughout my pregnancy and was told to always call with bleeding. It's not just baby they will want to check and monitor. I hope everything is ok.

Don't you have an antenatal clinic you can just ring up? I had a bleed a few weeks ago, they where not to concerned as it seems to be related to cervical erosion but they kept me in overnight and advised me I needed to call every time if it happened again (which it may well do)

StuckInTheMiddleWithJude · 04/09/2018 21:19

@Pepper123123 sorry misread that! Yes definitely ring the maternity unit/triage and get seen. Good luck x

I would call and check. I had several big bleeds at around 20/21 weeks which they put down to a low lying placenta. It was me they were concerned about, they kept me in for observation overnight. Baby born safely at term but so incredibly stressful at the time.

Thanks everyone. The number was engaged, so just waiting until the line is free.

I've got dressed anyway because I'm sure they'll call me in.

I bled during my second pregnancy, off and on. She's 22 now.

And during my fourth. She's 5 now.

Hope that's reassuring but get checked out again.
