I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with drinking raspberry leaf tea? I bought some today as my midwife recommended it today at my appointment.
I'm desperate to have this baby now!

My kids are in their early 20s, but yes I did try Raspberry Leaf tea and it actually made me ill!

I remember telling the doctor and she said 'well don't drink it then'. Not sure what I was expecting her to say tbh!

So it didn't suit me but that's not to say it won't suit you. Why not try it and see how you go?

Raspberry leaf tea doesn’t bring on labour,it helps prepare your cervix and help it be favourable for when labour starts and helps speed up the second part of labour, supposed to help prevent tears. I started one cup a day at 33 weeks upto 3 cups a day now at 37+4 xx

Drank several cups a day from week 33 onwards.. it certainly didn't bring on labour as I went to 42 weeks and then had to be induced. Unfortunately none of those things worked in my experience (pineapple, dates, bouncing on ball, walking, swimming, yoga, baths).. the baby will come when it's ready

How many cups should I drink a day?? I'm sipping some now, not keen so had to add a teaspoon of sugar to make it at least drinkable for me!
This is my second baby, DD #1 was induced due to reduced fetal movements 3 times, so I'd love to be able to avoid an induction this time (although got diagnosed with obstetric cholestasis at 30 weeksSad so not sure if that'll cause an induction again - only time will tell when I see my consultant next week!)

If you can bear it then I recommend having sex. I am sure this is what made me go into labour 12 hours later at nearly 39 weeks.

Nothisispatrick · 04/09/2018 16:08

I’ve been drinking it as my understand is it helps move labour along once it starts, not that it helps baby come early.

It tastes better cold. I used to make a big jug of it using several teabags, let it cool and then put it in the fridge and drink it cold with ice. I'm not sure it did any good though.

Dates! Eat dates. There has been a (admittedly very small) study into eating dates in third trimester and a correlation between date consumption and shorter labours, higher rate of spontaneous labour, the "date eating" group were more dilated on admission, etc.

As already mentioned it DOESNT bring on labour and needs starting drinking around 32 weeks. Baby will come when it’s ready
