Congratulations!

I self referred to a midwife online straight away and had my first contact with them at six weeks pregnant. It dragged for me - waiting for the NHS to be interested and my first scan I just wanted to get going!

Celebrate and be happy, take folic acid and vitamin D and look after yourself is all you can do for the next few weeks 😊 x

Awww super congrats! Pop over to you GP surgery and get registered. Explain you are pregnant and want to arrange a booking appointment with the midwife.

Then go for a nice lunch with your DP and a wander around mothercare! Grin

I called my GP as I didn't know what to do either! They gave me the number of the local children's centre, where the community midwife is based. I called her and she made me an appointment for 8 weeks to see her for my booking in appointment.

Congratulations Flowers

Congratulations!
I second the register with a GP advice. In my area, I couldn't self refer to a midwife and had to have a GP appointment first, so you may also need to go via this route!

If you haven’t already, get to the chemist / supermarket and get some folic acid supplements to start taking. Everything else has been covered by previous posters I think

Congratulations Grin

Thank you girls for all your speedy replies. Ive just called my local GP surgery and they told me to come down for some registration forms.
I didnt mention the BFP, cant bring myself to say the P word. 😂
She did say on the phone if i was on the pill and needing a new script to contact my current practice. I nearly told her it wasnt necessary. Haha.
Ive been taking folic acid and vitamin D since starting TTC so glad they were the two you suggested.
I started the vitamin D mainly due to coming off the pill and in the past my skin has got so bad i read it was good to take. Luckily its also good for TTC and pregnancy.
Feel in shock atm.
What are all your stories if you dont mind sharing? Anyone else got a recent BFP?

Not crazy at all! It’s a lovely time, why not enjoy it!

My baby is at school now, so my BFP was a long time ago, still remember it so well Smile

Congratulations!! I'm 7 weeks now with my first, and was so excited to get my BFP!

Once you've seen the GP, you'll either be referred or self refer to midwife - I've got my booking in appointment in a week's time.
We had an early scan on Sunday so got to see our little bean and make sure everything was ticking along nicely, then next scan is 12 weeks (which seems ages away!)

If you're taking your folic acid and Vit D I don't think there's much else to do!

I've been on pinterest researching and looking at pregnancy tips. I also read up on the NHS what I can't eat etc.

Download some apps to track how big your baby is and what happens each day/week. I like Ovia, and Pregnancy+
