Late AF but BFN

I am 5 days late for my period. I had unprotected sex the day before and the day after I was predicted to ovulate so I could technically be pregnant.
I have been trying for around 6 months.
I was due to get my period on Thursday, however I took a test on Sunday which was negative and again today I bought a clearable early test which was also negative.
I have never had a period be more than 1 day late so this is extremely unusual for me.
I have had light cramping in my lower stomach since Saturday and several headaches. Other than this I have had no other symptoms of pregnancy.
If I am pregnant why is it not showing up on a test?
How long should I wait to test again? Should I go to the doctors and ask for a blood test? Has anyone else had anything similar?

Heard lots of women who have tests dont show positive until they are 7-10weeks pregnant
Wait till a week late, test again, or get bloods to ease your mind.
Silly things can dramatically affect periods coming late. But finger crossed its good news for you

There are always lots of threads on this board and the conception board where people have a late period but a pregnancy test is negative. In the majority of cases AF just comes along a bit later than usual. It happened to me even though my cycle was usually regular as clockwork.

Sorry, I know that’s not what you want to hear but it’s best not to get your hopes up. I would wait a week and then retest if there’s still no sign of your period.

I tested after I was a week late and it came up negative. Didn't get a positive (was too scared to test again!) until 5 days after that! wait a week and if nothing happens then test again.

I was getting BFN until 8 days late! Hold out
