Did you find your fitness peaked at the end of your pregnancy?

I’m 41 weeks tomorrow and feel the best I have for months! My usual easy crosstrainer and gentle weights session felt easy today!

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this? Hoping it’s a good sign and body is gearing up for labour!

I will let you know in seven months. I intend to keep up with my weight training too just doing one less set per exercise and a bit lighter weights. I also walk for an hour 2-3 times a week.

Nope. I'm nearly 33 weeks and I feel like I've been hit by a bus. I've tried so hard to keep up my gym routine but I'm now really struggling. Felt good second trimester. Really jealous you are feeling fab Envy

Bumble I felt awful at around 33/34/35/36 weeks! Barely did anything as it was hard enough just getting through the day at work. It’s improved a lot since maternity leave started but it’s been particularly noticeable in the last week!

I had bouts of tiredness but still felt pretty good up until labour both times and my trainer first time around told me I'd hardly slowed down. I can't say I felt like I had a last minute spurt or anything but hey, if you feel good enjoy it.

No unfortunately! I was doing great until around 33 weeks ... and then overdid it at the gym and ended up with awful pelvic girdle pain! Now it even hurts to walk and I have physio this week! Be careful!! That said, if that hadn't hit me, is probably still be at the gym - it felt really good.

Oh and as for why you might be finding it easier - when baby moves further 'down' your lungs are less crowded! That may be while you feel better than you have for months. It is a good sign, although can happen weeks before birth.

My bump dropped at about 36 weeks Surreygirl so yep, been hanging onto that hoping it was a good sign for 5 weeks now 😂

Hahaha. I'm 36 weeks and bump hasn't dropped yet... jealous!

Waters broke about an hour and a half ago and contractions have started ramping up so there might have been some logic to this after all!
