Pregnancy rash?

Sorry I've included some pictures and it doesn't look nice! It's like hives I guess and is very itchy - on my feet, tops of legs, stomach and back!

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and I've come out in this rash - this is my 4th baby and I've never suffered from this before! Is it normal?

I haven't changed body wash or fabric conditioner etc.

It's horrible isn't it?
I've had exactly the same, on my feet then my ankles and a few weeks later on my calf's.
I had it at about 15 weeks, I'm 24 weeks and haven't had it for a while.

The only thing that helped me was hydrocortisone (and then something stronger when the rash got huge) calomine lotion but for for instant relief ice cubes in a wet flannel.

Oh and it's PUPPP by the way.

TruffleShuffles · 03/09/2018 13:46

I had it from chest down to knees and from about week 8, it was horrific. I would advise going to the doctors and have them confirm it is PUPPP though as there are other things that cause itchiness during pregnancy other than PUPPP. I got a prescription for hydrocortisone cream from the doctor, I wouldn’t just go over the counter as they are not all safe to use during pregnancy and she also prescribed me an emollient that I could use at any time to help with the itching. Annoyingly mine has just come back at 26 weeks, I really hope it’s not a sign of stretch marks starting as I hoped I would get away with them!

Thanks ladies! I did have a google and I thought it could be the puppp but it says you get it in the third trimester and I've only just made it out of the first! Just as I was starting to get over the sickness as well!! 🙈

I think once the kids are back at school on Wednesday if it's still there I will take myself down to the doctors to see if I can get some cream to help with the itching!

Hi, I started with a small rash on the back of my legs when I was 20 something weeks (with twins) and tried e45 but just seemed to spread and get worse, all down the back of my thighs, backs of my arms, big patches of it down my calves and finally went to the doctors to be told it's pregnancy induced eczema! I've never suffered with eczema before in my life and was told because I'm having twins my immune system is low and that can trigger it (never knew this🤔) anyway they prescribed hydrocortisone cream and zero base emollient to bath/shower/smother myself in and it's calmed it but still there.. will only go when the babies are born 😕

Anyway after that ramble! I was just going to say try and get it checked sooner rather than later because I left mine and it just spread and got worse.. the itching drives me crazy so wish I'd nipped it in the bud! 🙈

That's good news, could have been a reaction to something 👍🏼

sickmumma · 05/09/2018 20:52

Yes I think it must have been an allergic reaction! Still not sure what it could have been though!
