Gender scan worries

I've just booked my gender scan for when I turn 16 weeks! Although the company say from 16 weeks I'm worried that it's going to be too early! Has anyone else had an early gender scan and was it right?
Nervous and excited and keeping my fingers and toes crossed baby plays the game Grin xx

If they say from 16 weeks then 16 weeks must be fine.

I had mine at 15+5 and was clear as day what baby was - didn't need to even ask Grinthey say 16 to be on the safe side, starts to show at 14 apparently

I had a gender scan recently at 16+4 and I'm pretty confident it was accurate! I haven't had my 20 week scan yet but it was quite clear she was a girl as there was nothing between the legs and my boy was very obvious!

I went to Window to the Womb and loved it. I found it much more relaxing and enjoyable as the sonographers at my hospital tend to be quite sharp and less welcoming. I've attached my potty shot just so you can see Smile

Yes my boy was defiantly easy to spot at my private 16 week scan Grin

I got a wrong assessment at 13 wks Angry Gyne said it was 97% accurate. This was in Belgium, though British dr. Found out at 21 weeks that it was in fact a boy and not a girl....

We had a gender scan at 16 weeks and were told by the sonographer there is no doubt we're having a girl. That was only last week but now we have her in our head I would definitely miss the idea of her if she turned out to be a boy (Although so grateful for a baby). I do know someone who was told girl in a gender scan but had a boy. Not sure what level of certainty they were told. Our guy was quite defensive when I asked if he was certain, telling me about his years of training and "only if she grows a penis".

Thanks everyone @beccii161016 I have no idea what I'm looking at but yay 😂 I'm really excited, my 20 week scan isn't until October 10th so I'll be double checking then!
@CrabbyPatty I didn't think they were allowed to tell you 100% anyway 🙄 I'm sure he was right though even if you bruised his ego by asking 😂

Don't know what the rules are on certainty but he filled out a form and ticked 'girl'. But yeah he seemed so certain he'd look silly if he was wrong. I was even quite clear that I wouldn't mind if he couldn't tell. I've had previous loss so was just happy she was doing ok in there.

Our 16 week scan was at 16+1 and the boy bits were quite obvious! 20 week scan confirmed this. It's probably a bit easier with boys.

I had one bang on 16w. Scanner said he was so sure it was a girl that he wanted us to call him if we got to 20w hosp scan and it was a boy and he'd re-scan us for free. She is a girl and has been confirmed on numerous scans since!

Maryam18 · 02/09/2018 10:23

I had a gender scan at exactly 16 weeks and it was very clear we are having a boy!

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 02/09/2018 10:31

We had scan at 16 weeks exactly and were told it was very clearly a girl. She's now 10 months old and very much a girl!
