Quick question - How exactly do I work out how many weeks I am? Confused!!

Right ladies, this is really frustrating me, please someone help!
I know you work out the date from 1st day of last period.
My first day of last period was 19th April and I have tested bfp. (hoo-bloody-ray!!!!)
Get a calendar ready....
If it is exactly 49 days now since the first day of last period, does that make me 6 weeks going into my 7th week or 7 weeks going into my 8th week?? does this make sense??
april 19th was a thursday, so if i count the thursdays tomorrow will be the 7th, but do i include the actual first day of my period as first day of pregnancy??
this is confusing the hell out of me, plus i am feeling very hormonal and i would just like to know how far along i am as desperate to get to 12 week stage.
Experienced pregnant ladies please help!

the two weeks before your period count as two weeks of the pregnancy, but it is all based on a 28 day cycle

there you go !

the 6/7 means you're day 6 of the week

so 6 weeks and 6 days .. tomorrow will be 7 weeks

but why is it a full 49 days since last period - that makes it 7 weeks already? 7x7 49, yes? im so confused. I looked at the prg calculator things, and yes am due 24th jan, but i need to know in terms of weeks now. Are you sure im not 8 weeks tomorrow? (she asks very hopefully?)

its not an exact science .. its a guess

the chances are you won't have your baby on your due date but around then

you are definitely 7 weeks tomorrow which is the same as 49 days

sorry twig, i know i am far too over analysing it but if i have already gone 49 days today, am i not at the end of my 7th week and therefore due to start 8th week tomorrow?
v. confused. please be patient. I was never a maths girl at school

not all months are 28 days though, and cycles are based on that

as twig has said, the odds of baby being born on due date ar very low, sometime in the two weeks before or after is far more usual, so don;t stress too much about it now!

1 x 7 is 1 week
2 x 7 is 14 days is 2 weeks
3 x 7 is 21 days is 3 weeks
4 x 7 is 28 days is 4 weeks
5 x 7 is 35 days is 5 weeks
6 x 7 is 42 days is 6 weeks
7 x 7 is 49 days is 7 weeks

7 weeks

so day 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 = 1 week pregant

and day 43,44,45,46,47,48,49 takes you to the end of your 7th week pregnant

so on day 50 (day after tomorrow) you will be 7 weeks and 1 day pregnant

its really not the due date that concerns me at all. Its the knowing how prg I am and therefore how far I am from everything being a bit safer and not so precarious if you know what I mean....
Just want to get to 12 weeks. But it seems as if I am 7 weeks tomorrow.....or is that 7+1 .

think of it like birthdays you're not a year old until 12 months have past

and you're not a week pregnant until 7 days have passed because we start at 0

today you are 6 weeks and 6 days

tomorrow you will be 7 weeks

on friday you'll be 7 weeks and 1 day

But im SURE i read somewhere that you counted day 1 as the first day of prgcy....

the first day of your period is like the day of your birth its the starting point the big 0 and then you start counting the minutes until at the end of that 24 hour period you have DAY 1

right twig, you do realise, yes, that for the next 9mths there are going to be various thread titles reading something like "attention twiglett, how far am I today".... a bit like, are we there yet?!
Ok, I now accept the wisdom, I am 7 weeks tomorrow.....and 7+1 on friday.
