Hi everyone,

Was just wondering if anyone has done/ was planning on doing this soon and got a bit of a disappointing reaction?

Have just had a reaction which hasn't left me feeling great. Was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar and how things panned out.

TIA

I dont think employers can legally do much other than say "ok, bring in maternity paperwork at 25 weeks and we will sort mat leave start date".

In what way was their reaction disappointing?

PotteringAlong · 31/08/2018 18:10

What reaction did you get vs what were you hoping for?

@napqueen yeah, agreed. thanks for reassuring.

@potteringalong not sure really what I was expecting, certainly not a 'wahooo congrats !!', I can understand how inconvenient my pregnancy is for my employer just didn't think that this would be made plain by their reaction. but nevermind

A colleague of mine was asked by our (then) boss 'is it congratulations or commiserations?' 😳 when she informed them of her pregnancy
