Soapy taste in mouth when eating. Is this normal in pregnancy? I am definitely not eating soap!

Has anyone had this? I'm 10.5 weeks and it has only come on in the last few days. My morning sickness is going slowly and wasn't as bad as 6-9weeks, so thought I was over all these weird symptoms, although I'm still super sensitive to smells. It's more of a background taste than an overpowering one and my mouth 'feels' soapy! It's still really off putting though.

Is this a sign of vitamin deficiency? I haven't had the best diet due to ms, but gradually starting to get better.

I don’t think it’s anything to worry about, there’s lots of random things that happen to us during pregnancy!
Just before I found out I was pregnant everything I ate tasted like tuna, very weird and annoying but when I found out i was 5 weeks pregnant it explained it!
It’ll probably pass soon but if you’re worried mention it to your midwife and she’ll probably put your mind at ease 😊

I had that for about a week! Just a weird gross mouth feeling, especially if I wasn't eating or had just eaten.
Only thing that took it away was fizzy laces.... Not the healthiest at 9am some mornings but better that than try everything else to eat and drink first to no avail!

Maybe pop to the dentist for a check up just in case it's dental?
