30 weeks. Woke up not feeling right...

I'm 30 weeks pregnant (nearly 31). Been okay up until now (very lucky!). Woke up this morning however to a horrid pain in my groin, super exhausted, feel sick and nauseous, back is aching, Braxton Hicks on and off. I contacted my midwife as it is like I suddenly feel rough overnight (and if I was 37 weeks I would be calling he MLU!) however she said all of my symptoms are normal. My midwife doesn't have the best track record and caused a bit of a drama a couple of weeks ago (forgot to do my 28 week bloods) and told me bleeding was normal and that I didn't need a scan (consultant was unhappy to see this in my notes) so haven't got the most faith in her...

Is it normal to feel like this overnight? Felt fine yesterday, feel like I'm falling apart today?

I haven't got a temp, so not got a big, I just feel like suddenly pregnancy has hit me and all of my symptoms developed within 24 hours...

I'd get a second opinion OP - you know you're body better than this midwife does. If this isn't normal for you it's always better to be safe, could you phone the MLU anyway and ask for advice there?

JontyDoggle37 · 30/08/2018 12:40

Phone the MLU, go in and be seen. Trust your instinct, not someone who hasnt even seen you. If they then say all fine, at least you have peace of mind, and if they find something then you’re in the right place already. Please don’t wait, go in and get checked ASAP.

Go in.

The midwife is someone on the end of a phone, she hasn't seen you.

I can feel baby moving (a lot) so I'm not worried about baby. I don't even know what I am worried about. I just feel weird...

I had the exact symptoms 3 days ago woke up vomiting in the night awful back and just felt dreadful I thought I had food poisoning. After samples and blood tests turns out I had a UTI and was given 5 days antibiotics. I feel so much better I’m 34weeks.

I’ve been feeling this way on and off for a couple of weeks, I’m at the exact same stage you’re at. I have put it down to the iron tablets I’m being forced to take and anaemia in general. Feel pretty naff and drained tbh.

Having said that, it never harms to give them a call and go get checked out if needs be.

Have you considered asking for a different midwife?
