I went in for a growth scan on Tuesday and baby is ok but was told my amniotic fluid is quite low but not dangerous ( thats why my bump was small) but what the sonographer did say was my baby was VERY low in my pelvis head down, he emphasized it . Today Ive felt more pressure down there... Im 36+1 and Im wondering did he mean the baby might come early? or can they stay super low for a long time and the sonographer was just being observant? what do you think?

My baby was 2/5 engaged from 38 weeks but came at 41. Doesn't always mean anything tbh

dc was the same. born at 41 weeks.
sorry

My DS was also the same as this and I was 2cm dilated at 38 weeks. He wasn’t born until 40+3.

Ah ok thanks guys Smile I don't mind if the baby is late I just thought the guy emphasised it so much I wondered if he was trying to tell me something or if I was reading into it ! Sounds like the latter !

I was told the same with DD2 from about 32 weeks. Prepared to deliver early and she was 7 days late!

I don't think i5 really means much but pressure on the cervix helps it dilate

DD1 wasn't engaged in early labour but DD2 was 3 5ths palpable at 36 weeks

DD1 natural labour 37 weeks
DD2 long latent phase waters broken 37+3

My second was fully engaged from about 34 weeks, and was born at 40+2, so doesn't necessarily mean anything about when the baby is coming (though it might make things a bit more uncomfy for you).

yep, I had to do the 'mother ship walk' for weeks

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 30/08/2018 14:30

Again my DD was the same and late.

I think it’s impossible to say. Both of mine were engaged around 34w. DD1 was induced at 40+5 and still didn’t want to come out. DD2 was 2 weeks early.

DD2 was ridiculously low down though I must say. I had to take a pessary around 36w for an infection. TMI warning - I got my finger in just 2cm and could very clearly feel her head. If I’d sneezed too hard I think she might have fallen out. The delivery was super quick and easy. I was very lucky!
