How many weeks pregnant?

So, theoretically. when you can first possibly know you're pregnant ie through a home test. How many weeks pregnant are you?

I'm so confused over this!

Weeks of pregnancy are dated from the first day of your last period. So if your last period was 1st August and you tested positive on 28th August that would be 4 weeks (can be confusing as first 2 weeks are before conception occurs)

Just over three weeks. Soonest possible positives would be around 8-9 days post ovulation so just over a week since conception and three weeks from your last period. It’s more likely your first bfp would be 11 plus days post ovulation.

Well I guess it depends on the sensitivity of the test. I got my first BFP at 8DPO so would have been about 4 weeks... I think.

Also, does anyone know how the length of your cycle impacts your due date?
For example a woman with a 38 day cycle compared with a woman who has the 'standard' 28 day cycle? Does this mean there's literally 10 days difference between their due dates?

Everyone is dated from the first day of their last period yo begin with, which assumes a 28 day cycle. But then the dating scan at 12 weeks is used to date the pregnancy and is more accurate and will likely reflect your cycle length.

Hi I guess my question is on these lines I had a mc a couple months back but been having symptoms and not sure if am seeing things.i took a test and thought I saw a faint line can anyone see it or is it my eyes?will re test in a few days if my period doesn’t come

I did a test at what would have been 3.5 weeks and it came up negative.... I went to doctors with weirdly painful boobs 2 weeks later and she did a test and it was positive...turned out I was 5.5 weeks pregnant xx

I tested at 22 days from 1st day of period and got a positive (although I did have slightly shorter cycles of 26 days so this was still probably 8 or 9 days post ovulation).
