Borderline Urine Result!?

I'm currently 7+6 weeks pregnant and had my midwife booking appointment at the weekend. She took a urine sample which I thought nothing of. Now my doctors have just called me saying my urine result came back borderline so I need to do another test! I've had 2 other pregnancies and never had this before. Can anyone tell me what this could mean? Really worrying now.

Probably just double checking for a UTI

It might be showing very slight signs of infection so they need a repeat test before either ruling it out or prescribing antibiotics.

My first thought was UTI too. My midwife told me a lot of UTI's in pregnancy are symptomless which is why they check for them so often.

Please try not to worry, as others have said they're just wanting to double check if you have a UTI (very common in pregnancy) and need some antibiotics. I had the exact same result after my booking in appt, immediately panicked, burst into floods of tears and the poor receptionist on the phone didn't know to do with me! She got the GP gave me a call to reassure me, I peed in a cup again and the results came back as completely normal :)

Thanks everyone! I've just given them another sample and spoken to them again. They said my urine sample came back contaminated. Whatever that means?

It means there's bacteria or similar in your sample but they're not sure whether it's actually from your sample (so indicating infection) or caused by something else such as your hands, the testers hands, cross contamination from your body etc.

They just need another sample to check you don't have a UTI.

Thank you for clarifying. That's eased my mind. Hopefully it's just a faulty sample and if not I can just have some antibiotics to clear it.
