Zika virus - Gambia

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and everything going well so far. Last Christmas myself and my husband went on holiday to Gambia. Someone at work has just been talking about the risk of Zika virus in that region and now I'm terrified that there might be something wrong with the baby. I got my BFP on 19 February so did not conceive there. I did tell my midwife at my first appointment and she didn't bat an eyelid. Has anyone else been on holiday there and been worried about the same issue? I am hoping I'm just being super paranoid...shall I just get a GP appointment and see what they say? Nothing abnormal has come up on my scans but I turned down the normal screening tests so if they had seen anything would they have even told me? Thanks in advance.

At 31 weeks if there was a problem it would have been picked up by now. Microcephaly (abnormally small head) is one of the main risk factors of Zika. This would be spotted at the 20 week scan. Enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy.

I went to Bali on my honeymoon not knowing I was pregnant. Told the midwives and they booked us in for w couple of extra growth scans to double check but I was told if there were any problems they would have been spotted by 20 weeks, so I wouldn’t worry.
