Prescribed aspirin - vomiting

Sorry for posting this at breakfast time!
I'm 10+6 and have been prescribed soluble aspirin and high dose folic acid. I don't have any morning sickness but this morning I was sick without warning (no nausea). It looked like brown mucus and I'm just wondering if I was vomiting blood.
Has anyone seen anything like this please?
I'm not due to see midwife again for another month.

Did you take them both at the same time? I have the pregnacare plus now which is 2 tablets of vitamins and the first 2 days taking hen I've felt really sick after. I think it was a vitamin overload for my body. May be wrong?

Daisy2990 · 28/08/2018 08:49

Yeah I do take them at the same time. I actually had the same experience with Pregnacare in my first pregnancy and stopped taking them.
This time I'm just taking the two prescription pills plus calcium/ vitamin D.

Don’t take them at the same time. Too hard on the stomach. I take my aspirin at lunch with food. I also buy the enteric coated ones.

Thank you for the advice. I will try having the aspirin earlier in the day. (Midwife prescribed soluble ones - not sure if that makes any difference.)

Out of interest, have you been told when you will stop taking them?

Yes, they told me to stop at 34 weeks. I’m 33 weeks now but I’m a bit nervous about stopping.

Thanks! I wasn't prescribed it first time around so this is all new to me.

Aspirin is apparently best taken at night.

Vitamin tablets are best taken at meal times.

Liverbird77 · 29/08/2018 02:01

My midwife also told me to take asprin at night.

I've been taking my other pills at lunchtime and my aspirin at night after or during a meal. Unfortunately I was sick again today and it was slightly red. The midwife I spoke to said it probably isn't the aspirin, but I'm not vomiting at other times, nor am I heaving or retching. I just get the urge to be sick while brushing my teeth.
Really odd. I'm going to go to the GP and get it checked out. Thanks for the tips. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Hey I know I'm really late but did u find out what it was I'm facing the same :(

Maybe change the pregnancy vitamins to a different brand? Or try the enteric coated ones as they are supposed to be better for your stomach. If you do think it is blood that is urgent and if your midwife doesn't see you, the GP needs to.
