Hello,
I'm just over five weeks and I am the most irritable, sarcastic, moodiest cow you would ever meet.
Usually I am quite a laid back person but it just seems everything and everyone is just pushing me over the edge.
My poor fiancé is bearing the brunt of it, even the sight of him at times can make my blood boil lol
Please someone tell me this is normal and that it's going to get better. I don't think I can cope with being a psycho Bi@&ch from hell for another 8 months

I’m in the same boat, and was most of my first pregnancy too. I just tried to be really self-aware, e.g., tell my husband I was feeling extremely edgy and perhaps it was best for me to have some alone time, and take some alone time at the office too when colleagues were annoying me. The test I have myself every time I felt annoyed was to mentally “explain the injustice to a friend” (just an internal monologue!) If my explanation was “so-and-so intentionally jumped repeatedly in the elevator in my building and cost me £500 in repairs” I was probably legitimately annoyed. If my explanation was “DH is breathing - gah!!!” it was probably the hormones and I knew to take a few deep breaths and try not to say anything. Goodness, pregnancy is irritating though!!! I feel like an absolute bitch, even if I manage not to say everything I’m thinking!

Snap! I'm 5+3 and have been irrationally (silently) raging at my DH all weekend. Personally I think they deserve it and if they didn't want to be hated they should've kept their sperm to themselves! 😂

My baby book says that this is expected and partners just have to deal with it! My husband saved us from a crash, by loudly saying, babe watch! I hadn't looked and it was totally my fault, but I tore his head off for, "making me look an idiot and telling me off." I'm 16 weeks, I think you may have a little longer before it settles down!

Kez99xo · 26/08/2018 21:43

Im the same!! Constantly moaning at my boyfriend, snapping telling him to shutup. I had to send him home it was that bad i keep telling him its just my hormones lol

Phew... I thought I'd had a personality transplant or something lol

I am being completely irrational! I actually threw a mini tantrum in ASDA because the DP asked what else we needed lol. I honestly thought I was going to cry!

The next few weeks should be fun. Apart from the hideous mood swings and exhaustion I haven't had any other symptoms yet. God knows what I'm going to be like if the nausea kicks in Confused

I was premenstrual for the first 16 weeks.

Mine calmed down eventually. I’m 24 weeks and no longer as much of a bitch.

That said, I had a shouting match at my pregnancy pillow last night and hurled it across the bedroom in the early hours of this morning 😂

I had visions of being a beatific earth mother while pregnant but in fact I’m a crotchety old cow. Did return to normal for the second trimester but the irrational rages are back now I’m 31 weeks. Oh and I cried watching Paddington yesterday...
