When did your nausea end?

I'm only eight weeks and can't stand it. It gets worse as the day goes on. Last pregnancy I had it for five months. I wanted to ask when people's nausea ended and was it the same during all pregnancies. I am praying it goes after first trimester.

16 weeks this time.

MrBull · 24/08/2018 23:16

14/15 weeks

DeltaG · 24/08/2018 23:34

When they came out! Had nausea & vomiting from 5 weeks until the very last day, both times. Was on antidepressants the second time in order to better cope mentally.

Sorry OP, but it might not improve 🙁

polkadotpixie · 25/08/2018 06:01

The relentless, daily nausea ended at about 18 weeks. After that it was just occasional episodes if I got too hungry or tired

I hope it ends soon for you, it is miserable 😩

Sadly for me the day I gave birth, suffered terribly with "morning sickness" the whole of my pregnancy and tried every damn remedy people could throw at me.

magpie24 · 25/08/2018 07:18

13/14 weeks

AEFT · 25/08/2018 07:21

DC1- morning sickness all the way through- stopped when contractions started.
DC2- Hyperemisis the entire way, worse than 1st time. Stopped after anti sickness injections when DC2 was 1 day old.

With my son it probably went properly around 12/13 weeks but was getting much better at that point and only felt it intermittently during the day. I recall going out for a meal around that time and announcing my pregnancy to family, so I must have felt ok.

This pregnancy the sickness started around 3.5weeks before I even tested. Week 7-9 was incredibly rough, vomiting 4 times a day, so violently that I kept weeing myself!! It has been slightly better from week 9, but puked again last night, so maybe I'm in for it again this weekend. The food aversions are also bad. I just can't eat anything healthy and any fruit I eat comes up again. I've lived on chicken sandwiches, ice lollies, sweets and crackers for over 5 weeks now. I keep looking in recipe books and 'reminiscing' over the good old days when I could have a curry. I'm meant to be meeting friends and cooking a dish to take round for a buffet, and for once I'm dreading having to eat and all the smells that go with it.

I hope it doesn't last as long for you as what some of the ladies posted here. Bear in mind a post like this will attract people who have had a hard time with nausea, vomiting and HG. Every pregnancy is different (in my case, this one is worse and hardly gained any weight, but I put on a stone in first trimester with first pregnancy and I'm heavier now than I was then, so every cloud.....). I've found seasickness bands takes the edge off during the day. Evening nothing works for me though-apart from sleep!!

Sorry that was a bit of a hefty post! I forgot to add, if it gets really bad the docs can prescribe anti-emetics, but it's a bit hit and miss whether they works or not from what I've heard. Never tried them myself.

DeltaG · 25/08/2018 10:00

I tried every anti-emetic drug and none worked. The first 5 months were the worst with vomiting 8,9,10 times a day. It went down to about once or twice a day by the end, usually when I attempted to clean my teeth. I'm surprised they didn't dissolve, being covered in hydrochloric acid multiple times a day!!

Frlrlrubert · 25/08/2018 10:52

24 hours after the birth. I did have some 'good days' in the third trimester though.

Thinkingallowed85 · 25/08/2018 10:54

14weeks it was easing and mostly okay by 17/18 weeks. I was also on medication during this whole period.

Thinkingallowed85 · 25/08/2018 10:56

I really recommend getting anti-emetics if you are struggling to cope. I had to put my eldest in nursery even though I was a SAHM, medication allowed me to function and parent by the afternoon.

stegosauruslady · 25/08/2018 11:07

Mine have been very similar with all four pregnancies...10-12 weeks and the nausea goes. I get morning sickness before I can test though!

emwithme · 25/08/2018 11:15

13 weeks, ish. Week 11 was the worst, throwing up 12 or so times a day, even with medication.

Now 25+6 and it's settled to dry retching when I brush my teeth.

witherwings · 25/08/2018 11:29

8-12 weeks with both. Is stopped overnight at almost precisely 12 weeks. Every time I moved during the 4 weeks though I felt and was sick.

RosiePosies · 25/08/2018 11:44

well this thread is a bit depressing Confused

MarthasGinYard · 25/08/2018 11:47

Hate to add to the grimness

Mine ended after my CS

I threw up out of car window on way in to have dc

Grimmest time of my life pregnancy

JoanFrenulum · 25/08/2018 11:50

I was on masses of Diclectin until after the birth. Kept trying to stop it, threw up 10-12 times a day, back on, magic. Pharmacist kept asking "are you sure you still need this?" and pregnant me going OH LADY LET ME TELL YOU

PurpleFlower1983 · 25/08/2018 12:31

I’m 13+1 and still have it, hoping it will bugger off next week! It eased up in week 11 just to tease me!

Dalesgirl16 · 25/08/2018 12:38

I take it the anti emetic medications are perfectly safe to take?
Has anything worked as a cure for anyone?

These had amazing reviews for travel sickness on amazon so I bought then even though I couldn't see anything about taking them for morning sickness. I have received them and it says no safe for pregnant women?? The ingredients are probably safe?

I'm 17 weeks and only just started to feel normal again. I'm hoping it will last, I wasn't sick I just had awful nausea and this is my first pregnancy xx

Gobletoffire · 25/08/2018 21:12

I’m 10 weeks and today I’m feeling the worst I have yet. I haven’t been physically sick but I am nauseous 24/7 and dry heave. All these comments aren’t filling me with much hope, I was hoping it’d ease up in a couple of weeks or so waaaaaaaa Sad

Dalesgirl16 · 26/08/2018 09:55

It doesn't sound like anyone has had an effective remedy other than medication. I'm going on holiday when I'm 15 weeks and scared I won't enjoy it now. Confused
