5 hours!! Help me relax

Ok, I know I'm being an idiot here!
I have my 12 week scan in about 5 hours. I had a scan at 8 weeks due to some pain but turns out it was just my IBS and everything pregnancy-wise looked normal.
I don't know why I'm a bit anxious. My symptoms have calmed down over the past week-I've not been sick since last Wednesday (it was happening 3 times a day before) but I know it's normal for that to happen as you get towards the 2nd trimester.

So basically, what I'm saying is, everything seems to be happening normally in my pregnancy but for some reason I'm nervous about this scan. Anyone else felt like this?? X

I think it is normal to an extent. I was like this for every single scan! Couldn’t sleep the night before, heart racing. Even thinking about it now is making me anxious! I had a straightforward, low risk pregnancy, but still worried about everything.

Wishing you all the best for your scan.

It's very normal to feel that way I've seen so many threads about it.

You'll be amazed at how far your baby has come in just four weeks. Try to relax and enjoy it once you're there.

Thank you both! I feel ok, just every now and then get a "holy shit" moment.
I'm going to go out for a nice long walk with the dogs (I'm off work today) so that'll clear my head.
I'll keep you posted.

I've (thankfully) never had any complications in this or my previous pregnancy but always a bag of nerves leading up to scans. I have my 20 week one in a few weeks and I bet I won't be able to sleep the night before x

Snap! I’m about as laid back as they come, but a bag of nerves before each scan- especially the 12&20 week ones when you aren’t showing or feeling kicks yet. I refer to it as scanxiety.

@Thistles24 I'm so stealing that word!! Haha!

Congratulations! It's such a relief isn't it x

It is. It was lovely as we also had a trainee sonographer in, so had the scan done as normal then she had a wee look for 10 mins or so. As she was early in her training we literally just got to sit and watch baby wriggle around. So cute ❤️❤️

Even better! X
