Hi everyone, so this is my first chat on here so I apologies now if this has been asked somewhere before :) I’m 23 and next year planning to have a baby (start trying for one)
I’m currently losing weight, and have already lost 8lb (half a stone) and hope to be down a bit more soon, my questions to all of you guys is....

  1. what was your experience like, when pregnant at scans or classes, or just in public etc I have heard some horror story’s of being asked to lift up stomach or oh your pregnant etc.
  2. how easy/quickly was it for you to fall pregnant if your a slightly bigger then average size? I no I’m 23 so still in my prime but weight is not on my side.

I plan to lose as much as I can weight wise this year (I no not long left) so then next year I can start fresh and live my dream of becoming a Mum, I’m currently a size 22 sometimes 24 in tops as I have larger breast size and arms.
I would like to be down at least a stone or two by next year putting me at 17stone ish mark as need a reliable target for next year, but also don’t want to put tryjng to conceive on hold any longer just so I’m down a bit more weight.
Hope that makes sense
thank You xx

Im 17st on the button and 9w+3.
It wasn't planned and my weight is my biggest concern as I have been battling with it for years. I have managed to lose 7lbs through making healthier choices but still stuggle. I feel my eating is a psychological issue that runs much deeper than simply changing the way I eat and exercising more otherwise I wouldn't still be like this.

I am taking each day as it comes but have highlighted all concerns to the midwife as my weight does get me down.

With my first i fell pregnant first time aged 24, i had a healthy bmi, but put on 4 stone during the pregnancy. I fell pregnant with my second very soon after having number one, having not lost the weight ( I didn’t end up gaining much during pregnancy number 2) both pregnancies were good with no problems.
Now 3 years on, I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. My bmi is about 30/31. I’m currently 8 weeks pregnant and conceived first month of trying, despite this. Im trying to be healthier during this pregnancy as I’m really hoping to avoid problems. I’ve had a scan last week and it was fine (I’m an 18 and carry most of my weight in my hips)

I had diabetes before I was pregnant. I lost weight as I was eating much healthier.
I got the doom and gloom about babies born to older, diabetic, overweight mothers.
DS was perfectly healthy and I had a good pregnancy, admittedly with lots of monitoring for the diabetes.

Things that my weight being lower would have helped:
Scans were painful as they had to press on so hard to get a good view
The spinal for my ELCS took over an hour and I nearly had to have a GA
Trivial things:
People didn't know I was pregnant til late on
Maternity clothing was no good
People who didn't know me were shocked that I wasn't further on than I was
I never had a defined bump
I didn't feel much movement

I thankfully don't have diabetes or any health problems currently, (apart from being fat haha 😝) I'm relatively active busy life and job etc so I'm keeping everything crossed that that will all be in my favour when I need it to be, my main problem is my bmi anything over 35 is a risk apparently from what I've read up about....to get to a good what they class as a healthy bum I need t lose 10stone, I refuse to wait any longer to have a baby so I will lose what I can before hand and keep it going afterward to, my baby will be my motivation, pre pregnancy, during, and of course long after.
I hope to be down a full stem by the end of next month if I can which is already 1 notch down on my bmi calculator so fingers crossed x
