I've told mine from the off so I'm sorted, was just wondering if the same rule applies to my partner regarding when work need to know?

Is your partner coming to 2 antenatal appointments with you, taking paternity leave and/or shared parental leave?

Then their workplace needs to know. Ideally only tell an immediate manager before the 12 week scan date.

Yeah I'm 15 weeks now he took my first scan as a holiday but for some reason he's putting off telling work and I'm a bit worried if there's a deadline for him to have to say

He needs to check his work policy. My husbands work he has to officially tell them (HR) 15 weeks prior to EDD - that's for paternity leave to be processed. Your partner should tell at least his boss soon though as I think by law dads get to attend a certain amount of scans etc, they don't need to take holiday for it. Also, a reasonable boss would also let them be with you for any unexpected issues, if they knew what was going on, over the (I think 2) standard allowed appointments.

To get paternity pay/leave they have to tell work 15 weeks before the due date. (But I think in theory they never have to tell work because leave isn't mandatory)

DP left it as late as he could to tell his work because he had only just been working there long enough for paternity pay and was still in probation. Huge company though so they are used to dealing with it unlike my work.

Right thank you. So he has until the end of October to sort his head out. Thanks everyone 😂

My OH is insisting that the company he works for he only has to give notice 30 days before due date?
Does this 15 week notice apply to all employers , I really am doubting he has got his facts straight and may have just heard it incorrectly from someone else he works with.

They can legally take two antenatal appointments off UNPAID so many guys do resort to using holidays, my DP did.

15 weeks before the due date for paternity leave.
