Hi, I’m currently 36 weeks exactly with my first baby. I’ve been having growth scans throughout pregnancy as my BMI is over by one.
At my 32 week scan, baby was head first and growing fine. Today at my 36 week scan, baby is still growing fine and is all good except for the fact he’s in transverse position. They have booked me in to have an ECV next week and have said if it’s unsuccessful I would possibly have to have a csection. This was the last thing I wanted as I am petrified of the thought of a csection. I have been told the chances of it being successful are good considering he’s been in head down position already but I’m still nervous that it doesn’t work. Does anybody have any experience with ECV and what was it like? All the things I’ve read so far haven’t been 50/50 with half saying it was fine just a little uncomfortable and the others saying the pain was unbearable. Any help would be fab. Thank you x x x

Personally I felt more comfortable with the risks of a c section than the risk of an ECV so refused. DS ended up turning anyway so both were unnecessary in the end.

Have you looked at spinnng babies? You could get baby to turn yourself using the techniques on there.

I've read the only real risk is the cord and the doctor said earlier that because he's already been in head down position it would lower the chances of it happening.
I've heard of spinning babies but couldn't find the correct page I don't think, not sure if my phone is blocking the site for a strange reason.. thanks so much. Did it take your baby long to turn on their own? X
