Hi all
Looking to grab a few things over the next few weeks which will end up in my hospital bag
So looking for the best/most recommended brands for the following
Breast pads - both disposable and re-usable
Maternity towels
Nipple shields
Do I need disposable knickers? If so - which ones are good?
What are the best knickers for the days/weeks after? Most comfy?

Any recommendations for the above would be greatly appreciated! :-)

Lots of great advice here. I pack two separate bags - a smaller one with just enough for labour and one night, then a separate one with extra clothes for if I need to stay longer. I leave the second in the car to save space - especially if you are going on the ward overnight there is not much room.

Don't forget phone chargers, and any of your favourite snacks for afterwards and for your birthing partner!

Babies can go through nappies quickly in the early days so bring a good number in your main bag and the rest in the car pack.

A small plastic jug to pour over my bits for the first time you go to the loo after the birth - sounds random, but if you have the space it can be a big relief.

Also I don't think nipple shields will be necessary or helpful, you'll only need them if you have problems, you don't want to start off with them.

What bag did everyone use as a hospital bag? A normal backpack? And how many week was you when you packed it?

Just to add to this, as peoples responses were really appreciated!

Where do people recommend getting maternity/nursing bras from? If at all? Thanks!
