I have been offered the stretch and sweep for a week today which would make me 37+6, we've been told they think baby is little on the smaller side but still been given the go ahead for the sweep. This is my first child and just wanted an opinion on how others felt with the sweep and if it worked?
thanks xxx

I had 2 sweeps past my due date and neither worked, I don't think it'll make a difference unless your body is nearly ready. They were uncomfortable, painful the first time as My cervix was still high up. Hope all goes how you want, remember it's up to you if you want to have it.

I had I think 3 with my first child and they didn't do anything except give me period-like pains. I found the first one a bit humiliating tbh (obstetrician, student, and husband in the room). I wouldn't have them again but it is your choice.

Agree unless your body is ready, it won't make a difference, it'll just be uncomfortable.

Another one to say, if your body is ready to go it might kick it off, but if you're not, then it won't do anything (and may hurt or be uncomfy). Why do they want to do one this early? Round here they won't do them until after 40 weeks.
