What were your favourite buys during pregnancy and afterwards? I need spoiling/treating on a large level and want to indulge myself. I have a pillow that I love but that's it really! I'm loaded up on suppositories and pads for afterwards...but I want the lovely stuff too :-)

For post-natal:
Lipbalm, handcream, foot cream, moisturiser for stretch marks. Oh and bath products. Don't know any brand names but get your favourites. Every Saturday when partner takes over for a few hours, it's nice to treat yourself to a long bath/shower and pampering.

Also get a really nice eyemask so you can grab naps here and there when the baby is sleeping even if it's really bright out.

If someone wants to get you a gift ask for a voucher for a back massage. Your back will be sore from feeding/ carrying the baby, so treat yourself after a month or two while DP takes over.

The Neal's Yard products are lovely and feel like a treat!

I also get myself super lovely (bf friendly!) new pjs and dressing gown for after each baby has been born as you will be spending more time in them and its quite nice to have ones you don't mind seeing visitors in! I think wearing your pjs when people are over reminds them that you are recovering too, so they don't expect so much of you!

I have this Mama Mio relaxing sleep kit and it smells amazing! The tummy rub butter feels great too.

@stegosauruslady any recommendations on nice BF-friendly pjs? Just googled and can't find much out there...

I swore by the Body Shop's body butter during pregnancy to combat stretch marks. I never normally spend more than a couple of £s on body lotion so at £15 it was more of a splurge for me. There's lots of lovely scents too.

Clarins body tonic and the matching bath gel 😍 it’s dreamy. Not very cheap but I’ve had both over two months and I use them every other day. The tonic is lovely and oily to rub on skin.

I got some lovely champneys bubble bath gifted to me by my god parents after DD was born 😍 best gift ever!

Natalia new mother bath soak is awesome!

Some good comfy bras and knickers.

stegosauruslady · 23/08/2018 16:51

nightlights I just buy anything button down in a size larger than pre-pregnancy!

I promise I don't work for them but I am always recommending Happy Mama. I've got 2 nursing nighties for hospital and post birth.

I also love The Body Shop stuff but I'd like some Champneys for post birth. I think the Boots Christmas sets should be out soon-ish!

Ooh I so want a lovely long bath now!

Any soft and baggy button down PJs are ideal (my dad bought mine from Tesco when I panicked I had nothing clean one evening when DS was about a week.

Tbh I didn't have time for lotions, foot cream etc.

My DS is 7 months now and by about 3 months my back was so sore I was desperate for a massage so a voucher is a good idea. If you BF it'll just be hard to fit in for first few months.

Happy Mama looks great - especially for pyjamas!

Soft new towel as nipples hurt so bad that even the shower on them hurt for the first week.

DamsonWhine · 23/08/2018 19:26

Clarins Bain Tonique bath and shower gel definitely - I think a PP has mentioned it already. Herby, fresh, delicious, lather lasts really well.
