Heartbeat in my stomach

I know it is my own and not the baby's heartbeat.. my stomach has had a "heartbeat" for weeks now and it's getting more prominent the further on I get. Anyone else experiencing this? Looked on Google but came off again as all sorts of horror stories about aneurysms and what not.

I’m 23 weeks and also have noticed this for the last few weeks!

Do you an an anterior placenta? Could it be that?

Darkstar4855 · 21/08/2018 21:21

I have that - it’s nothing to worry about. Before I was pregnant I could see my heartbeat moving my stomach if I lay in the bath and breathed out, now it makes my bump move!

FluffyBunnyTails · 21/08/2018 21:22

I have the same, was so confused at first. I read on one these forums I think, that it was because we have more blood going through our bodies or something like that. No idea if it's true but seems to be common and normal

Goatlady5812 · 21/08/2018 21:32

I find mine first everytime! Every one of my pregnancies has been the same. X

I have an anterior placenta and have had this really strongly from quite early on

Thanks for your replies. I do have an anterior placenta. Just found it strange and even annoying at times as I've had a few bouts of reduced movements in this pregnancy so whenever I'm thinking I've not felt her so much I sit and look for signs of movement (often see before I feel) and all I can see now is this strong pulsating instead!

As a PP said it's your placenta.

At one of my appointments I had a trainee midwife have to check my pulse as well to check what heart beat she was listening to in my stomach.

I've had this as long as i can remember, its just the abdominal aorta. Gives me the boak if i lie on my front
