Okay so after about 7 positive tests and the doctor confirming I'm pregnant with my first so everything is worrying me as I've had shooting pains and cramp in my tummy and back is this normal? I am 4weeks and HVG level is 250 the nurse said I've to go back in 2 days to make sure this has doubled is this anything to worry about? I'm so anxious as I've been so stressed out any feedback would be great thanks xx

Hiya sorry can't help with the HCG levels as my Dr don't do those but I'm also (around) 4 weeks so very newly pregnant, Dr confirmed today but literally just by a dip test. But I can say I'm also getting pains in my tummy and back..they're the reason I tested in the first place as I remembered getting these from my first pregnancy :) XX

Cramps are completely normal because everything is stretching and, in percentage terms, it stretches more at the beginning than the end.

You get after pains after the baby is born when it hurts going back to the size it was before too Grin

xsmx18 · 21/08/2018 19:12

I see okay I will try not to worry as much then it sounds like a normal thing to have cramps and pains I just thought because it's so early there shouldn't be pain yet xx

Hi, I had shooting pains up until 6 weeks. Very severe ones that stopped me in my tracks and were very low down. My midwife wasn’t concerned about it at all and said it’s everything stretching to accommodate your little one. I still get cramps and twinges but the shooting pains have stopped now. I’m 9+4 weeks x

xsmx18 · 21/08/2018 19:30

Congratulations first of all 😊 thanks putting me more at ease knowing this is normal every pain I get I worry just now but I think most people probably do to start with xx

Hi I've been getting bad pain I rang early pregnancy depart and they said to come in for an internal scan tmro ... I took a clear blue which said 2 to 3 weeks would make me 4 weeks now but the team on the phone worked me out at 7 weeks from my last period.. I'm scared if I'm too early than they think I am they won't be able to see anything. Can anyone shed any light I'm so anxious first time mum tia x

xsmx18 · 21/08/2018 19:49

Thats where I went yesterday early pregnancy unit and they something similar to a smeer test with me to check for infection but everything was clear they are going to wait another 2 weeks and give me a scan to make sure everything is ok as they wouldn't see anything just now at 4 so if you are 7 weeks I'm sure they will see something with you xx

I just don't understand how the clear blues said 2 to 3 weeks last week and now I'm 7! Haha oh well I suppose I'll find out tmro x

xsmx18 · 21/08/2018 20:08

Yes that's confusing they take it from the first day of your last period they told me.. My clear blue also said 2-3 and she said that makes me 4-5 but good luck tomorrow 😊xx

Thank you:)

Moomoo3 · 21/08/2018 20:39

Clear blue tests you for the level of HCG where as medical teams take it from your laat period as they don't know exactly when you ovulated. On my last pregnancy I had a clear blue one day that said 1-2 and the following day said 2-3 lol the clear blue tells you when you actually conceived but the doctor's don't know that info so use your period as a guide.

It's mad because they measure you from your last period start date, but on your last period start date your not actually pregnant (because you've had your period) until approx 2weeks later by the time conception and implantation have occurred XX

Jennydb · 21/08/2018 20:53

I'm worried now my last cycle was 47 days long never regular gahh gonna be a long wait til tmro x

Moomoo3 · 21/08/2018 21:02

Oh no please try not to worry. The clear blues would have said 2-3 because usually ovulate 14 days before the start of your next period which means that even with a 47 day cycle you may have ovulated and conceived 2-3 weeks ago. And the drs are saying 7weeks because that's how long ago your last period started. They get measurements etc and sometimes change your date going by baby's size. All what you've said does sound good tho X

Jennydb · 21/08/2018 21:17

I'll update tmro thank you for explaining it 🙂 x

@xsmx18 Hi. Was just browsing posts, read this and had to reply. I have had two sons and for both pregnancies, between the 4-5 week mark I had the WORST cramps ever. I'm quite a tough cookie when it comes to pain, but the pain was unbearable! I couldn't even move and would be curled up in a ball on the bed, crying and I was convinced it must be ectopic or the start of a miscarriage. Both times I ended up in the EPU and all was fine, it was literally just implantation stretching and cramping! So try not to worry too much, sometimes pain doesn't always mean that something bad is happening xx

xsmx18 · 22/08/2018 07:55

Okay makes me feel much better with everyone's comments, I think we all automatically think oh no surley pain shouldn't be this sore but glad I'm not alone with the pain and it's something others have had. It's the sharp pain I keep getting in my lower right tummy that worries me xx

Does anybody know if its ok to dye my hair in first trimester? It's a semi pernement conditioner hair colour 100%vegan. I'm not sure if this is ok to use?
