Hi looking for some advice please, I am currently pregnant and just found out I am high risk for downs syndrome1/51 chance so my anxiety is through the roof I will also have to an elective c section at 36/37 weeks due to previous placental abruption and risk of uterine rupture. I am terrified something will go wrong during the c-section and something will happen to the baby or me.

The anxiety and stress is driving me crazy this will be my 3 rd section
1st was elective

2nd was emergency due to placental abruption
3rd booked for elective due to risk of uterine rupture.
I have had both great and horrendous experiences but I am terrified now.
Anyone had 3 or more sections what was your experience ?

Thanks

I’ve had 5 c sections
First was emcs rest elcs
Was sterilised after fourth, regretted it had ivf which didn’t work so had a sterilisation reversal and another baby
Sections 2 and 4 a bit scary due to
Complications and sections 3 and 5 pain free !!

I think we’ve found each other on the boards before @Hedgehog80

You give me a lot of hope that my third CS will be potentially ok (1st a breeze 2nd scary with terrible healing & infection after) and the fact you’ve had 5 and without serious issue is fascinating.

I had some complications with a couple of them (accreta) but I was very lucky it was diagnosed during pregnancy and then managed. I was surprised how easy my fifth section was in jan this year I was told it would be very painful and there would be lots of scar tissue but they said it was minimal and that they’d never actively encourage any more but if I really wanted any more children just leave a good couple of years in between ! (I dont think I will though im exhausted!)
Good luck x

That's wonderful thank you all for sharing your stories I am relieved to see it's normal that I am feeling anxious about the c section. It's amazing though all these stories of 2,3 and more c sections I can now relax a little and enjoy pregnancy. X

Thank you so its something that happens during labour
Good for me to know thank you

@theweasleytwins my placental abruption happened during labour, it can happen when not in labour too but I think it's low % but I am not sure on those signs. If your worried maybe ask your midwife about that and the rates so you have a better idea. X good luck.
