Did my baby have a fit?

I've been feeling kicks and pokes and punches but last night felt an odd shaking feeling, like something was vibrating back and forth in my womb. Lasted for a few seconds and then came a few more times. Was like the whole baby was shaking back and forth really quickly. Like an electric toothbrush or a mobile phone on vibrate. Was this a fit?

I had this when I was pregnant with my son and have had it again with this pregnancy. Last time I was reassured by the midwife that it was normal and my Son is fine.

This time I have others being concerned about this kind of movement but having then been reassured by their health care professionals.

I would call your midwife if your are worried but I'm sure it is fine :)

Braxton hicks contractions can feel just like that as can baby hiccups! Perfectly normal!

NotSoThinLizzy · 20/08/2018 20:08

I had it loads during my pregnancy it was my tummy muscles pinging and cramping panicked at 1st 😂

What do hiccups feel like? This really felt like an electric toothbrush going off in my womb!

I've had this too and been panicking baby was having some kind of seizure! It feels like he's either punching or kicking but super human quick and all over if that makes senseConfused

I'm pregnant with my 3rd and have it a lot. I had it with the others too. I think it's totally normal.

firsttimemum090 · 20/08/2018 21:25

Glad I'm not the only one and @Potkettleblack32 that you've had this before with healthy babies. @sickofworrying, your name is exactly how I've been feeling lately, but I reckon it never really stops Confused

The worry is never ending I'm afraid! But don't be afraid to ask midwives for assurance if you are worried. Its not worth putting yourself through the anxiety x

I had that - quite a lot. Also hiccups, which felt very different - exactly how you'd imagine someone hiccuping on the inside to feel like. All apparently perfectly normal - and DS is asleep next to me, and hasn't done it since.

I’ve read somewhere that it’s stretching, a little like how we shudder when we do a really big stretch after waking. I’ve had it s lot too!

LucyLou19 · 21/08/2018 07:12

Sounds like hiccups xx

Nutkins24 · 21/08/2018 07:13

Yep I had it too. Baby was perfectly healthy.
