9 weeks and bleeding- again

Been seen in the EPI at 6 weeks and 7 weeks for bleeding. All had cleared up and now today at almost 10 weeks it’s started again.

Earliest I can be seen in Thursday so now got days of waiting again to see what’s happening. This pregnancy has been such a roller coaster so far I’m not sure how much more I can take.

So sorry that you're having this trouble, as if pregnancy wasn't an anxious time enough as it is...
It sounds so harsh that your EPU can't see you til Thursday... are there any that you can self refer to at a different hospital? Or perhaps get a referral from your GP?

If you had good scans at 6 and 7 wks, you may well be just fine, but I can fully understand the worry and would want everything checked out as well.

I hope you manage to get seen before Thursday. x

SleepyMcEdie · 20/08/2018 14:17

GP would only refer to same place and next available appointment is Thursday. If the bleeding gets severe or very painful I have to go to A&E.

I’m tempted to try and book a private scan tomorrow.

That's so frustrating for you sleepy that they can't see you till Thursday, I've been having similar issues with bleeding on and off as well - EPI only book appointments in my area too and won't see anybody urgently. Are you in pain? Did they give you a reason why it was happening last time? x

SleepyMcEdie · 20/08/2018 16:05

A few niggly cramps but nothing major.

Last time they could see the bleed on the scan but weren’t sure were it had come from. I’ve had 2 weeks with no bleeding at all and then today it’s back. It’s so frustrating and the not knowing is awful.

Bleeding been on and off since Monday but mainly brown. This morning it’s fresh red blood and I’m terrified. Got a scan at 11:30 so at least the waiting is nearly over but I’m convinced it’s not going to be good news.

Good luck today sleepy thinking of you 💐

SleepyMcEdie · 23/08/2018 07:07

Thank you. How have you been? Has your bleeding stopped?

SlimmingMumOf1 · 23/08/2018 07:19

Not sure if this helps but I had bleeding at 6 weeks then again at 9 weeks (heavy red bleeding and it continued for two weeks). My DS is here right now clinging onto me! It doesn't mean it is bad news lovely. Thinking of you today x

SleepyMcEdie · 23/08/2018 07:24

Thanks slimming that does help. I’m really struggling with constant worry that something is going to go wrong. I’ve had 2 miscarriages before but they were earlier than this.

Yes mine as all stopped for now - so nerve wracking, the midwifes are being really good and have said I can go back to the day assessment team who will scan me same day if it happens again - EPU won't see me any more because I'm too pregnant! Hope all went well today xx

SleepyMcEdie · 23/08/2018 17:10

That’s good that they can give you that reassurance. The 3/4 day wait for an appointment at EPU is a killer.

I’ve been for my scan this morning and everything is fine. They still don’t know what is causing the bleeding but baby is developing well. It hasn’t really reassured me much but I’m hoping it stops soon. Got my 12 week scan in 2 weeks.

I bled off and on throughout my pregnancy with DD4 who is now a very happy and healthy 5 year old.

sleepsleepandmoresleep · 23/08/2018 18:07

I had bleeding with no pain at 9, 10, 14 and 17 weeks. Was scanned each time, they never found a reason for it. Everything always looked fine. Second pregnancy, never had anything like it with my first.

I'm now 37+ 3 with a very big and wriggly baby doing its best Alien impression in my belly. Sometimes it can be nothing, not always of course - get checked every time. But it's not always terrible even though it is scary.

SleepyMcEdie · 23/08/2018 18:18

Thank you. I will wait for this batch to stop and then ring them if it starts up again. I had a little bleeding at the beginning with DS but nothing like this.

It could be sub-chronic haematoma(sp?)

Glad all was ok x

Hi
Just wanted to say I bled on and off when I was pregnant with my daughter and she's now here and 9 months old and very healthy.
I bled profusely at 20 weeks (they started to do an internal exam and stopped as the blood literally gushed out. They said I lost 1 litre of blood)
I was hospitalised twice for bleeding and was told to prepare for the worst- and it was fine and she was fine.
I know that's not everyone's story, but mine had an happy ending with a baby
I hope it's the same for you
X

Shellyanne131 · 24/08/2018 08:59

that's great news about the baby Sleepy :) It's so worrying when you don't know why it's happening though, hopefully there won't be anymore and you can relax xx
