10 weeks tummy shrinking

I’m 10 weeks today! After 2 miscarriages. Had a good scan at 8 weeks. My tummy had seemed to have started getting bigger and rounder but the last couple of days my tummy just seems to have deflated. Should I worry??

Congratulations!
No, the first bit of tummy swelling is bloating (thank you hormones!) and it subsides after a few weeks so it'll most likely be that
It's too early for any kind of baby bump yet but bloating can give you that podge initially xx

Agree with 3 mine did the same! Think you retain a lot of water initially and then it calms down. I didn't really get a bump till after 20 weeks with my first. Congratulations!

Don’t worry, that’s totally normal. The baby is still tiny and tucked behind your pelvic bone - the weight gain at that stage is just bloating.

SnuggyBuggy · 20/08/2018 09:01

Your tummy was probably just a food baby from bloating. I found the bloating wore off after the first trimester and the proper baby belly came later.

Mine did exactly the same and sent me into a panic!! Now 12-13 weeks and I can say I am definitely getting a rounded bump and can see it starting to move up rather than being right at the bottom!
Congrats SmileSmile

So long as you still ‘feel pregnant’ all should be ok. Any concerns I’d see a Dr or midwife rather than mumsnet.

Congrats! Flowers Mine did the exact same, I was sooooo bloated from water retention at the start, that calmed down, tummy was a bit flatter + I actually lost a bit of weight in the middle of pregnancy. I'm now 37 weeks and about to pop so had no effect on the pregnancy Smile

Thanks all. I’m just totally paranoid. 12 week scan on 4th September - can’t come quick enough!!!!

I keep loosing the “feeling pregnant” feeling. Bit nauseous on and off. Can’t stop blowing my nose. Boobs only ache occasionally. I can’t remember how I felt in my first healthy pregnancy to compare it. Some days I feel more pregnanct than others. Days like today I’m not totally paranoid!!!!

Totally understandable after what you have been through. Again, I was the exact same - my symptoms came in waves and could be worse at times then felt almost normal at other times. If you ever get worried please just call the midwife, that's what they are there for Flowers

LookingForContentment · 20/08/2018 12:46

Do you still have other symptoms- breast tenderness, nausea? Has there been any sign of blood - perhaps just some brown staining? Any tummy pain?
You should contact your midwife and ask their advice. It may put your mind at rest.

Embobolina88 · 21/08/2018 07:18

I’ve got no real reason to call the midwife. Symptoms come and go which is apparently normal. And normal for things to taper off toward the end of first trimester. Suppose I’ve just got to ride it out until the scan. 2 weeks today. It’s so far away x
