Leaking milk

So my ds is 17months old now I breastfed him for around 1 month after birth. My milk has never dried up completely but has only ever been spots (not enough to warrant a breastpad) I check my breasts regularly and tonight milk/colostrum squirted so far it hit me in the face like a proper flow. Has this happened to anyone else? What could this be? I just don't understand why all of a sudden it's squirting out of me again.

I haven't had this experience, but I'd say you should go to the dr to check it out to be on the safe side. I wonder if your regular checks could somehow stimulate the milk production? It does sound a bit unusual to me.

Yeah I think I will do. That could be a possibility but don't all women check their breasts? By regularly I mean like once or twice a week
