Hiya, i'm new to this page and looking for some help. So over the last week i've had slight spotting, i'm about 6/7 weeks pregnant, then yesterday I had massive cramps and lots of red clumpy blood come out for about an hour, i'm now having light bleeding and cramps coming and going. I'm assuming I have miscarried, I just want to know, I have a midwife appointment tomorrow, booked previous to the misscarriage, do you think it is worth going to get checked over or to cancel it, I don't want to be wasting their time when I don't need to be there? Thanks xxx

@Alfiexxx I'm really sorry to hear you've had such a difficult time. If I were you I would keep the appointment, especially if it's a second miscarriage for you. Getting that down officially is good for if you want to pursue investigations to look for a cause for recurrent miscarriage. Of course, lots of people have bleeds during pregnancy, and sometimes it's not due to a miscarriage. Go and get checked over. Xx

Keep your appointment and they’ll do either a scan or blood tests to confirm whether or not you've had one. In my experince if you go to a&e and they know you have an appointment tomorrow they’ll just tell you to wait (after you've probably waited a long time getting seen). Bleeding can be normal and can occur for many reasons so don't loose hope too soon.

Not wanting to give false hope but just to let you know it's not always bad news, I had the same symptoms at 6 weeks and I'm now 22weeks. I was utterly convinced I'd miscarried and was devastated before having a scan. They couldn't really give me an explanation for it but I've been ok since. Fingers crossed for you xx

Thank you all for your kindness and positivity, its mine and my partners first pregnancy, so we are really concerned, ive spoke to the non emergency hospital number and they have basically said the same thing, to wait for my appointment unless it gets worse. I have kind of come to terms that I have misscarried, but like you said you never know, again thanks all for your help, I will keep posted xxx
