Colours and textures on waking?!

Am 18 weeks, just wondered if this sounded like anything familiar...I've been waking up over the last few weeks seeing a pink and blue kind of textured pattern (think pink circles behind blue diagonal lines). It usually coincides with a minor headache that disappears when I take paracetamol. I do normally suffer migraines but no visual disturbances and this isn't a migraine. Is it just another weird pregnancy thing / anybody else have anything similar?

It sounds like migraine headache with aura....which can rear it's ugly head during pregnancy. See the GP about it OP.x

As above, I've had a migraine with aura once. I went totally blind in one eye for about an hour and ended up in hospital (I didn't know what it was!).

In pregnancy you absolutely should get that checked out.

I’m having migraine aura during pregnancy with no headache, usually when I wake up. I get weird patterns that move across my vision then disappear after 15-20 mins. Never had anything like it before.
Blood pressure etc all fine, midwife didn’t seem concerned but advised getting an eye test - again, all fine. Apparently it can happen due to changing hormones. But best to get checked out just in case.

Thanks for the advice all, I assumed it wasn't migraine because of the lack of pain. But will get it double checked

I get aura migraines with only minor pain.
It could also potentially be blood pressure related?

Ah yes maybe I should get my blood pressure checked. At my last midwife appt she said it was in the normal range but higher than normal for me
