Negative HPT and Blood test but still no period

Hi all,

It's been six weeks since my last period and I have taken 4 HPTs and had a blood test with the dr and there is no sign of a pregnancy. It's been a week since the blood test and still no period so I wanted to know if anyone else has had this happen and its turned out to be a pregnancy in the end or whether it has been something else?

I've read one forum online where many women spoke of not finding out medically that they were pregnant till 4-7 months due to very low hcg. But I have yet to come across any stories of anything else it could have been?

I would really like to be pregnant as I've been trying for 5 months. I never miss a period and my cycle is typically 23-25 days. I haven't had any symptoms so far either except for lower back pain and minor cramping and discharge after the cramping.

Any insight would be helpful x

The obvious answer is that you didn't ovulate or that you ovulated late. The time between ovulation and the start of af is fairly fixed for an individual (normally between 9-17 days) so if you ovulate, af will be delayed by the same amount. It's SUPER common (at least one thread a day on the conception board). You may have noticed it if not ttc...

It's caused by a range of things: weather, stress, change in diet etc...

This is why so many women track ov using bbt, opks and physical symptoms so that they can determine when af is actually due.

Thank you for the response! I am tracking ovulation on Natural cycles and the app has missed a former ovulation a couple of months back even though i had a period (i got the data checked with the NC team). This last cycle, it did say i didn't ovulate but the issue i had was it was a similar situation to last time where the app did not pick up the ovulation or so it seems to me even though there is a basal temp spike. I guess I just have to wait for AF :-(
