Pushing pain behind belly button

I'm 29 weeks with twins and since Friday have had an area of pain just right of my belly button, as if one of the babies has it's head/bum wedged up against my skin trying to get out. Sometimes it's more painful than others, when it's really bad I can' stand up straight!I feel like I'm going to burst from the inside any minute - anyone else had this?

Hi Bibithree. I'm almost 29 weeks too and I think I know what you mean. I quite often feel like my belly button is stretching and I can feel a hard bit next to it but not sure which part of the baby I'm feeling!! Apparently you can feel bruised if the baby's bum is pushing up against you.

Out of interest, do you (or did you) have your belly button pierced? I'm convinced some of the pain has to do with my piercing scar stretching...

If you're worried I would get it checked just in case. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

No belly button piercing. I had a scan last Wednesday and Twin A was transverse, twin B cephalic, so it must be twin A's head or shoulder.

Bruised is a good way to describe it most of the time and it does feel hard when I press it. I'm scaring myself that one of the babies will pop out alien style if I move to quickly!

Also, don't know if it's related but I'm getting backache on the opposite side - which could be due to the way the pain is making me hold myself when I sit/stand. Hmmmmm.

I'll have to ring the midwife if it gets worse though.

Not transverse, I meant breech. Still hurts whicever way up she is!

I'm 31 weeks and getting funny painful sensations when he moves forcefully, it's most painful behind the bellybutton area, I suppose they have less space across your stomach than when they're up-and-down iyswim.

You must be doubly feeling it with twins, I know mine's getting a bit painful at times so yours must be even worse with two of them swimming around.
