Hi, we had our 12 week scan some time ago (am now 19+2) and I have been trying to put this to ask of mind but with next scan approaching in 2 weeks I am getting more and more nervous. Our 12 week scan showed everything was great, lots of good measurements, everything average and heartrate of 149. Everything except the baby has a small leak in one of the heart valves. We were told this could be one of three things - a structural heart problem, an indicator of a chromosomal problem or nothing, and it will correct itself by 20 week scan. I am 34 so odds raised for chromosome things already but scan plus bloods gave us odds of 1:5956 for T21 and 1:11359 for T13/18. We could of course always be the 1 though.... I was just wondering if anyone else had been told this at 12 week scan and it had corrected itself? Doctors said that in 95% of cases it does, but obviously they might just be saying that to make us feel better! Our baby is now kicking loads and we really feel connected to it. I literally couldn't bear to hear bad news or have to make some awful decision to terminate.
