Which hormone makes you get that strange nausea/smell inside your nose?

Sounds a bit weird maybe but I hope someone else has had this.

When I was in the first trimester, I felt very sick and seemed to have a smell in my nose that wouldn't go away...just sort of haunted me, making me feel sick. Everything smelt weird.

Now I'm 39 weeks and keep getting it again, so am wondering if this indicates a resurgence in some hormone, maybe the same one is responsible for early pregnancy stuff and also getting ready for birth?

It's so strange. Thought I was over the morning sickness!!

Just googled it and I think it's estrogen, which would explain it as apparently estrogen rises late in pregnancy and starts the whole labour process off somehow...

Hooray!!!

Of course I could be completely wrong
