Struggling to breathe at 24 weeks

I’m 24+2 weeks pregnant and I feel out of breath most of the time, particularly at night when I lye down. I know this can be normal during pregancy but it’s bothering me a lot as it affects my concentration, it also panicks me if I feel particularly out of breath.

My ribs are feeling ‘tight’ as if I can’t open my diaphragm enough to breathe. It’s exhausting me and I wish I could get relief by resting. My ribs feel as uncomfortable, as if they’re under constant pressure.

I am quite petite with a small frame and so always knew the baby would be constricted but thought these problems would only occur later in pregnancy. I’m dreading spending the next few months like this as it prevents me from sleeping well at night. Does anyone have any advice/ shared experience?

You need to see your GP.
That level of breathlessness is not normal.
You could be anaemic, you could have pregnancy induced asthma, worst case you could have blood clot. Nobody can tell over the internet so you must get checked.

Agree with PP to see GP.
I have very very mild asthma but have found now 22 weeks experiencing the same issues you have been having. It's not very nice at all.
Use my inhaler last night and felt relief almost immediately so I know it's an exacerbation of my asthma.
Please get checked out.
Best wishes with your ongoing pregnancy x
